What ignited the spark in you to start your business?
As a young Pharmacy assistant watching the elderly be prescribed so many medications and having no awareness of complimentary healthcare made me sad and angry. I was watching these lovely grandparents literally die early and their family’s sadness. This was at the same time I watched the same thing happen in my personal life with one of my grandparents. At this point I had had enough and decided I needed to share what I knew and started to study to become a Naturopath. Over the years my passion has diversified however helping people stay well to have an enjoyable life has remained my core drive.
What is the vision for your business?
To see my Naturopathic skills evolve with psychotherapy enhancing my current work. Have both online and face to face options for women to gain understanding and transformational integrated health care to reduce stress, feel energised and love life.
What did you want to be when you left school? Did you study?
I left school at 15yrs old to work in a pharmacy as I knew I wanted to do something to do with health care I just didn’t know what. After 3 years in a pharmacy I knew exactly where I was heading and spent the next 4 years studying Naturopathy and Holistic counselling.
Was there a significant turning point when you decided to become an entrepreneur?
No, I have always seen myself as a practitioner. The Entrepreneur life is part and parcel.
Looking back is there a piece of advice you wish to pass onto someone starting out their entrepreneurial journey?
Invest in support early. Even if it’s just 3 hours a week. Pay people to do what you hate and waste time doing.
Who do you look up to in business? Who inspires you?
I am currently closely following and really enjoying Betinna Tornatora and Jim Karagiannis – Lux consulting.
I find their nature, professionalism and experience invaluable.
What is your favourite thing to do in your downtime?
Be a Mum and spend time with my family, going adventuring and Geocaching.
What is your favourite app?
Receipt Bank, Lol. My Bookkeeper has me using it and it saves me so much mess
