We Are Emersyn closes the growth gap for female founders. Through accelerator programs and founder-led content, we build the visibility, capability and network needed to scale past $1M and beyond.
The data is simple. The system is flawed.
Globally, fewer than 3% of female-founded businesses ever reach $1M in annual revenue. That’s not a pipeline problem. It’s not a lack of ambition. And it’s not a skill deficit. It’s a structural one — a gap in access to the capital, the networks and the unwritten rules that accelerate growth for everyone else.
We’re told to “mind” these gaps. To work around them. To minimise them. To accept them as the price of admission.
Frankly, that’s absurd.
GAP 01
Traditional lender bias. Less than 1% of Australian venture funding going to all-female founding teams in FY22. The “femtech” market gets 1.4% of total investment despite addressing a $1 trillion global need.
GAP 02
The “network” is a closed loop of handshakes you were never invited to. The deals, the intros, the warm conversations that move businesses forward happen in rooms female founders aren’t in.
GAP 03
High-growth potential dismissed as a “cute lifestyle business.” Female-led ventures held to standards other founders aren’t. Women asked prevention-focused questions in pitch rooms while men get promotion-focused ones for the same idea.
We’re done minding the gap. We Are Emersyn is built for female founders ready to accelerate past it — with the programs, the stories and the strategic thinking to build a better system while they’re at it.
of female-founded businesses globally ever reach $1M in annual revenue.
the percentage of female founded businesses that generate annual revenue under $500K.
of total venture capital goes to all-female founding teams. Unchanged in a decade.
PITCHBOOK
estimated global GDP uplift if women participated equally in the economy.
MCKINSEY
more capital raised and nearly 4× faster revenue growth when female founders are properly backed.
DELOITTE ACCESS ECONOMICS
The opportunity isn’t missing. The backing is.
Accelerator programs for female founders ready to scale. Tech Acceleration and the Growth Accelerator take founders through the stages where most stall, building the systems and strategic capability to grow past $1M.
The blog, the YouTube interviews, the WAE Insider newsletter. Real founder stories. Strategic insights. Honest conversations about what scaling actually looks like — without the pink-washed business advice.
We work with female founders who’ve moved past the side-hustle phase and are focused on building businesses with real growth potential. Founders scaling past $1M and beyond. Founders in high-growth industries — tech, consumer products, digital commerce, innovative food and beverage, social impact, scalable services.
We appreciate every kind of business. We back the ones ready to scale.
After leaving my corporate life and co-founding a successful marketing agency (working with clients across fintech, food & beverage, fashion, not for profit and professional services), I found there was a lack of visible female entrepreneurs and role models. I started to seek out support networks and attended a few women’s networking groups, but they weren’t for me and it wasn’t what I was looking for.
This led to We Are Emersyn, which started out as Behind the Brands in 2018 as a blog that aimed to shine a spotlight on female entrepreneurs and offer tips and advice.
In 2021 we ran a community female founders hub over a period of 12 weeks in partnership with the City of Canning and had over 400 registrations. The insight we got was that the women wanted almost like an apprenticeship in entrepreneurship and that’s how our accelerator programs came to be.
My background is as a CMO and entrepreneur and have worked in South East Asia and I’ve been speaker at the Accelerator for Enterprising Women, Google Women Techmakers, CERI – Centre for Entrepreneurial Research and Innovation, Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce, Women in Business Forum, Curtin Ignition to name a few.
Currently I’m a mentor for ScaleUP WA and an advisory team member at Ubuntu Ventures.
As a Mum of two I know first-hand how challenging being a female founder is. And it’s this reason that my mission is to close the access gap for female founders by breaking down the barriers.
