Hands up who gets green with envy when that one particular business pops up on your social media newsfeed? It’s like a constant reminder isn’t it. It can bring up negative feelings of doubt and break your confidence even on a good day.
Don’t worry you are not alone, we all get business envy from time to time. Let’s be honest it’s so easy to feel that way with social media at our finger tips, making it almost impossible to ignore.
A great solution would be to stop, to plain and simply stop having business envy but that’s hard to do!
Instead let’s focus on having it not matter as much and turning it into a positive for your business moving forward.
So, next time you get business envy I want you to remember the following:
So, what can you do about it. Turn business envy into a checkpoint exercise for yourself. Ask yourself the following questions:
If you ask yourself the above questions, you can start to break down why you feel this way and identify key take away points. From that you can set yourself new business goals, challenges or take small actions that are going to bring you one step closer to where you want to be.
If they can do it, you can do it too.
My last piece of advice is to always remember that the word success means something different to everyone. Don’t get hung up on the word or what someone perceives it to be but focus on what it means and is to you.
Don’t chase success and risking falling short, position your brand for survival.
Outshine, outmanoeuvre and outlive other businesses around you by shifting your mindset and game plan.
Success can come as easily as it can go.
So, what does survival mean to me? To with stand the test of time in business, to be strong, powerful, hungry for me, have instinct and drive and an attitude and mindset to handle sudden changes, challenges, hurdles or blocks that pop up in business. What does survival mean to you? Does it empower you to take the bull by the horns and own and crush it as you move forward in your business? I certainly hope so.
Next time you get business envy, turn it into a positive and identify what you can do to get you one step closer to what success means.
Stop chasing success. Be empowered by survival in business.
