Mariam Elhouli is a 31 year old mum of 5 kids ranging from 15 to 4 and is the founder of Eves Skin an Australian handmade organic skin care company. The products help to reduce acne, rosacea and are amazing for all skin types especially sensitive skin.
The skincare industry is super competitive but interest in Mariam’s products which are locally made and ethically produced has steadily grown.
When she first started out, she didn’t have any idea how to use social media or what even influencers were, so she did a lot of research and learnt everything herself.
What is a piece of advice you wish you had been told before starting your entrepreneurial journey?
You need to really research your market and build your social media following months before you even launch.
Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years?
I see it as an international empire, with stores worldwide!
What is your favourite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
I have met so many lovely people and made some amazing friends
What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Patience
You will make mistakes – just learn from them
Research your industry very well
How do you personally measure success?
Every time someone tells me my skin has improved because of your products I feel like I succeeded.
Outsource the skill or learn the skill?
I say learn the skill first and then outsource. This was you know if it done properly
How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?
I never give up on an idea. I try it out first if it does not work then we give up!
